very cute cartoon. but is it perhaps a little too much like “guns don’t kill people, people kill people?” i’m sorry! i know i’m being a little bit naughty by saying this. i couldn’t resist! you will come to rue the day you ever helped your sister get a computer.

It’s typical that any pithy and humorous comment can be viewed many different ways. Diane, I’d say Irving’s friend’s cartoon is amore kin to saying, “People don’t kill people, people with guns kill people.” That, to me, is significantly different from what the NRA tries to say.
I bet Irving didn’t expect that the first discussion he’d get on his blog was about gun control. 🙂
My reading of the cartoon is, “Don’t be interested in what the computer is doing, be interested in what people do with the computer.” It’s a total post-modernist perspective shift back to the human as subject and actor.
